House-Person - Part Time

Qualifications:

This is an entry-level position. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are required. Six months of related experience is preferred.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

The House-Person for the University Guest House & Conference Center demonstrates the ability to prioritize and change course of action quickly, being flexible. Positive attitude and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Provides outstanding guest service. Vacuums, cleans, mops, scrubs and dusts. Cleans hotel common areas including restrooms. Dusts, cleans and vacuums furniture, fixtures, doors and related furnishings by using appropriate cleaning supplies. Uses floor equipment including extractor, buffer and other machines. Cleans carpets and empties rash. Performs other Houseman duties per Supervisor’s and Manager’s direction.

Previous hotel and/or custodial experience preferred. Must be available any day of the week; days & hours may vary, depending on hotel occupancy.

This position requires a background clearance, paid for by the Guest House & Conference Center.
