The University Guest House is located in the Historic Fort Douglas section of the University of Utah Campus. We are just south of the Health Science Campus and directly east of the 2002 Olympic Legacy Bridge. We are adjacent to the Fort Douglas stop on the Trax Line.
We are located on Salt Lake City's east bench and 10 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport.
TRAX
UTA TRAX is Salt Lake Valley’s light rail system. It has three main lines – the Red, Green and Blue Line. University Guest House is situated adjacent to the Fort Douglas stop on the Red Line, near the end of the route. To reach the Guest House from downtown, board the Red Line at Court House. After the Court House stop the University line (Red) continues to the Daybreak located in the south west of Salt Lake Valley.
Many of Salt Lake City’s major attractions, from Temple Square and Trolley Square to EnergySolutions Arena and the Gateway District, are easily accessible from TRAX stops.
Airport and Shuttle
The Salt Lake City Airport is the only commercial airport on the Wasatch Front and is one of the busiest and most efficient airports in the nation. It ranks first in the U.S. as far as on-time departures and arrivals – and fewest flight cancellations. It is also only minutes from the University of Utah.

- To Reach the Guest House by Car from the Airport:
- Take North Temple to West Temple and turn right.
- Follow West Temple to 400 South and turn left.
- On 400 South, continue east. The road becomes 500 South as you approach the University.
- Continue on 500 South and turn left onto Mario Capecchi Drive (formerly Wasatch Drive.)
- Turn right at the first traffic light onto South Campus/Hempstead Road.
- Take the second left onto Fort Douglas Boulevard, and follow the boulevard to the Guest House.
